Infamous Internet "LOLrus" Given Life In Free Android App
LOLrus soundboard chronicles futile search for bucket
Orlando, FL, January 19, 2010 -- Today Gordyville Media formally announced its public launch of the LOLRus app for the Google Android platform. The app, available as a free download from the Android store, is a soundboard featuring many of the LOLRus' popular taglines.
The LOLrus - a creature known from a popular internet meme as a walrus, or more accurately a giant seal, in search of his bucket - originally only had two tag lines, "I Haz A Bucket" when his trainer provided him with a bucket of fish, and "No, They Be Stealin Mah Bucket" when his bucket was taken away. Over time, his vocabulary has grown.
This app features an iconic image of the LOLrus with his bucket, and a random assortment of popular LOLrus taglines.
Developer William Gordon had this to say about the LOLrus app: "The LOLrus has a lot to say about his bucket, and I'm already planning upgrades where he says even more. Who knows, in a future version, maybe he'll have adventures beyond the search for his bucket..."
The LOLrus app makes use of multiple Android platform features, such as the accelerometer -- in addition to clicking the LOLrus soundboard, try shaking your phone to see how the LOLrus reacts!
To view the app in action, visit the Android Market on any Google Android platform phone version 1.4 or higher and search for "LOLrus". You can also go to Android Zoom for more information.
